🥹 Validation Station
This week we’re sharing some Tiny Tea. New here? Tiny Tea is small gossip or little secrets you’ve never told anyone.
Have something you want to submit to us anonymously? Tell us here.

Welp, we’ve definitely been there. And honestly, it can be hard to know sometimes if you’re texting for validation, advice, or just to speak existence to your reality.
For our poll this week, we want to know if you’ve ever been in the same boat.
How often are you texting your friends about a problem you don’t really want solved, you just want to be seen?
🍿 Pop Culture Bites
🕊️ “When in doubt, play insane” -Catherine O’Hara. The world was not ready to lose such an incredible comedic force.
🎶 The Grammys are tonight, and we can only hope 2026 serves us a moment worthy of future nostalgia. E! reminded us of some of the greats: Gaga’s egg, J.Lo’s green dress, 50 Cent wandering onstage, and Doja Cat sprinting from the bathroom.
💔 Amanda Batula and Kyle Cooke, one of Summer House’s longest-running couples, have officially called it quits after four years of marriage and nearly a decade together. The Bravo alums confirmed they are bravely co-parenting the dogs.
🎖️ Spice Up Your… Knighthood? Victoria Beckham was honored by France with the title Chevalière de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, a prestigious cultural knighthood recognizing her contributions to fashion and the arts. Meanwhile, I’m still waiting to see the real video of the wedding dance.
❤️🔥 Margot Robbie’s “Wuthering Heights” press tour fashion has commenced. For the premiere, Margot wore the Taj Mahal diamond necklace, a 17th-century Mughal piece originally created for the wife of the emperor who built the actual Taj Mahal. Later it was also gifted to Elizabeth Taylor for her 40th birthday. Casual.
👨🏼⚖️ A judge ruled prosecutors can’t seek the death penalty against Luigi Mangione in the killing of UnitedHealthcare’s CEO, though he still faces charges that could put him in prison for life.
🎞️ Odessa A’zion (I Love LA & Marty Supreme) is quietly becoming an it girl, but loudly speaking out. She pulled out of the new film Deep Cuts (based on the book by Holly Brickley) after online backlash at her casting.
⛷️ Lindsey Vonn was airlifted after a brutal downhill crash in Switzerland just one week before the Olympics. A comeback queen to the very end, her team says she’s still on track to race in Milano-Cortina.
⛸️ Speaking of the Olympics, Team USA athletes are dropping Olympic haul videos, unboxing their Nike kits, and I am sat. “Perfect for bopping around the village.”
🏒 SNL is about to get a little more heated. Corrie Storrie is set to host an episode in February.
💬 What We’re Chatting About:
Carol: If you know me, you know I have been absolutely losing my mind over the 11 inches of snow in CLT. I absolutely love snow, anytime, anywhere. But in CLT?! A place that rarely gets more than a light dusting?! I’m locked in. I really think snow brings out the best in people. It brings out the kid in all of us. The kind, trusting, excited, anythingispossible version of us that is always there just waiting to be released.
Yesterday, four of us, fully grown 30-somethings gathered to attempt sledding. Armed with two under-bed Tupperwares and their lids, we set out on a mission for joy. On first pass, we achieved medium success.

low quality pic, high quality time.
We did not stop. We doubled down and headed for a bigger hill, convinced elevation would solve our problems.
On the way, a neighbor emerged from her house and yelled to us from the street asking if we wanted to borrow her sleds. In an era where you barely give a neighbor more than a tight-lipped smile, this lovely human, emboldened by the snow day, saw us on our makeshift sled journey, and said, “I can help.”
Armed with three real sleds, we set out for true victory, and true victory was had. We quickly quadrupled the average age on the hills of Plaza. Neighborhood dads had constructed a snowy-step-slide off the side of the hill. Moms were cheering with IPAs and mimosas tucked into snowbanks. The four of us joined the kids. There were shrieks, laughter, and one child who definitely has a future in luge.

safety third.
We stopped in for a couple of beers at Frank’s Beer Shop for Après Sled. Finally, we wrapped up the day by doing the honorable thing and admitting to our snow-day-neighbor-hero that our adult weight had, in fact, cracked one of their saucers after we hit a curb with way too much speed. They refused to take any cash to replace it. Class Acts.
It was a really, really great snow day. The kind of day you want to remember when world feels heavy. If you see me out today, you might catch a few tears as I watch it melt.

Skylar: Honestly, this week sucked. It can feel hard to muster an “I’m fine!” when the world feels anything but.
Yes, part of the suck was the literal cycle of period mood swings, cramps, and somehow, at my grown age, still managing to ruin my sheets (will be accepting any tips on how to remove those stains, thank you so so sosos much). But more than that, my heart feels heavy. For families living in fear. For friends and loved ones quietly carrying their own very human battles. Life is hard. Like, really hard.
And sometimes being this chronically online makes it harder. I’m constantly second-guessing: am I saying too much? Not enough? Do people think I am ignoring the dumpster fire or are people sick of seeing me? On weeks like this, it can feel almost selfish or shallow to talk about pop culture gossip or nostalgic nonsense when so much is happening all at once.
But I also really believe this is when we need a little light the most. A small laugh. A moment where it’s okay to ask your chat both, “How are you surviving?” and “Have you started PONIES yet?”
I don’t have a neat answer for how we fix everything (other than staying informed, voting, supporting organizations doing the real work, and amplifying them whenever we can). What I can do is share a few small things that made me happy this week. And maybe that’s enough for right now.
This post from BalletTok.
🐶 A Dalmatian puppy watching 101 Dalmatians will get me every. single. time.
😭 Oh, and for my cathartic crying release? Emotional stories about the upcoming Olympics, including American Figure Skater Maxim Naumov, who is honoring his parents (who coached him and were former World Championship skaters themselves) who died in an American Airlines crash last year.

📱 Rage Bait?
WWW doesn’t stand for the World Wide Web anymore, it stands for the Wild Wild West. At this point, we might as well holster our phones like revolvers as we wander into the lawless, dust-blown landscape of the digital world.
These two algorithmic bits hit our feed and our souls this week. Tell us your thoughts, real or rage bait?
