📍 See you on tour?

If you’re reading this email we want you to know that this next little announcement wouldn’t be possible without you. If this is your first email or your fortieth.

We (the girlies) are going. On. Tour.

You’ve helped us make something we love, and hope others will too.

It feels kind of surreal to say out loud and actually let ourselves get excited about bringing the show all over the country. We can’t wait to hear what girlies nationwide are chatting about, and share their hot takes and tea.

We’re still actively adding cities and dates, but if you know any girlies in Charleston, Nashville, Knoxville, Virginia, San Diego, Livermore, Las Vegas, Phoenix, and New York/New Jersey, we hope you’ll share the news.

We also need your help.

We’d love if you gave us some insight on how to let the girlies in new cities know about us.

🍿 Pop Culture Bites

👩🏽‍❤️‍👨🏼 Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling made their first joint public appearance in over a decade, causing everyone (okay maybe just me?) to say, “wait… they’re still together?!” Once again proving the couples that rarely are seen on IG together are probably the ones thriving.

🚔 inTOXICated? Britney Spears was arrested and sustained a DUI in California on Wednesday.

👰🏼 Fully seated for this Bridesmaids cast reunion at the Oscars. We simply will not accept that it’s been 15 years since the movie gave us endless unforgettable quotes. We already know they’ll each look “more beautiful than Cinderella.”

🪕 Hot and horny posters teasing Kacey Musgraves’ new music have been popping up in multiple cities featuring a phone number you can call that plays a mysterious voice message from Kacey. A brilliant marketing move and also something we are frankly annoyed we didn’t think of for our tour.

📖 Queen of Smut Sarah J. Maas revealed the drop dates for the next two ACOTAR books on Call Her Daddy. After a five-year wait since the last installment, she confirmed the next phase of the series will be one giant story told across three books.

📺 Meghan Markle’s lifestyle brand As Ever has split from Netflix after her series With Love, Meghan failed to take off. Carol here. I enjoy the Royal lure as much as the next person but I couldn’t agree more with the take from Vulture that this particular venture pioneered ”new frontiers in unrelatability.”

🎧 Haven’t had your fill of Rob Rausch? Don’t worry, he is now adding erotica audiobook narrator to his resume.

💬 What We’re Chatting About:

Carol: I spent a lot of time in the comments section of this TikTok. Shout out to Gabby Garcia for this gem, and also a 10/10 glasses selection.

When I first started doing improv, someone asked me what was next. I said I wanted to try stand-up… but that it absolutely terrified me. Their response? “You know that means you have to do it, right?”

What scares you? Reply back to tell me what’s on your list of things to attempt this year. I wanna know! The world needs as many women doing things scared as we can get.

Skylar: I’ve mentioned the ill-fated blog I tried to start in 2019, when I was heady with words and far too confident I had something important to say. “Carrie Called.

I dug up old drafts, and was stuck by how much my original notes about what I wanted to explore is the blueprint for Group Chat Girlies. A nice little reminder that my north star hasn’t really changed, just changed formats.

Waving the red flags (when is something a red flag and what defines it for you?) , the intellectual fuckboy, 2019 recap (best books, podcasts, movies, and tv, things I ordered on Amazon) , family dynamics -- when is venting and complaining healthy? Dating, Friendship, Lifestyle, Navigating Adulthood.”

In 2019 I was just as passionate about the things I am today. And I’m really grateful to now be building the girlie community to talk about it all. Because the truth is, I never wanted it to be just my voice.

I wanted it to be communication. Conversation. A check-in.
A place where we can look at each other and say:
“Yes. I lived that too. I felt that too. I wondered that too.”

A place to explore how we feel, and help each other cut through all the commercialized noise to figure out what’s actually worth the hype.

This first one explores why I think women might actually make excellent high-level crisis negotiators. After all, we’ve spent a lifetime labeling our best friends.

🍔 Burger Bites

The internet was loving to hate the Mcdonald’s CEO who tried a new product burger this week, and even found this old video of him seemingly unable to stomach eating a sandwich. Like all internet drama, it was met with a Burger King rebuttal.

A recent survey by the Global Institute for Women’s Leadership at King’s College found that Gen Z men were… twice as likely as Baby Boomer men to believe in traditional gender norms. A bright spot in the study? 60% of participants believe things would be better if women had more positions in business and government. Make it make sense.

16 year old Skylar loved some choreo. I have full body chills thinking about someone giving me a 5,6,7,8 and a caramel frap.

Reply to this email and let us know what did 16 year old you love?

🏀 March Madness

March is for the sports girlies, and the book girlies. If you’re both, you will not want to miss our 3/27 event at OMB. We’ll be joined by sports romance authors Lauren Blakely (hockey romance) and Mollie Goins (baseball) and we plan to keep the convo spicy! Don’t worry, no reading required to enjoy the event.

Then, Sunday night 3/29 we’ll be at Duckworths Comedy Club. We’re putting the stand up front and center, and have something very special planned.

☁️ Weather App

Last week we asked what temp range was perfect, and 53% of the girlies believe that 73°-82° is ideal for sandals and life.

36% of the girlies prefer a crisper 61°-72°, and a few girlies really do love those fringe freezing and heat wave temps.
